Object of the contract
The requirement for delivery of training to DPOs on the GDPR exists within the following context;
The GDPR comes into effect from May 2018. The Regulation builds on current data protection law by further strengthening the data protection rights of individuals and imposing more stringent obligations on public authorities acting as data controllers and data processors, including a requirement to designate ‘appropriately qualified’ data protection officers (DPOs). It is envisaged that the training for staff designated as DPOs, within the civil service and public bodies across the public sector, will be delivered by external market operators to be procured in accordance with national and EU public procurement rules. The Awarding Authority is considering running a competitive procurement process to establish a framework of training providers.
